Today I’m happy to present a guest post by Michelle Rise, a military mom who’s here to share info on Central Florida Military Discounts.
Now, on with the post…
We love to take trips at the end of summer when everyone else is gearing up for, or already in, school. Last night as I was web surfing, searching for somewhere to go, I came across some great deals from theme parks, museums and hotels in the central Florida region.
The deals and discounts are specific to military personnel, which intrigued me.
Our son is currently serving in the United States Coast Guard. Since we’re planning to spend time with him and our lovely daughter in law on this trip, I wondered if he was even aware of the possibilities for using his discount privileges for accommodations and activities.
Activities
Blue Star Museums offers free museum admission to active-duty military personnel and up to five family members now through Labor Day, September 1, 2014. The eligible museums include but are not limited to:
- Orange County Regional History Center
- Orlando Museum of Art

Kennedy Space Center – U.S. Active Duty, retired and reserve military members can purchase discounted tickets through participating ITT/MWR offices on a nearby military base.

Stay Sky Resorts salutes Active Duty and Retired Service Men and Women with a special 20% discount! Simply enter MILITARY in the promotion code field. *This rate is based on availability.
Active duty and retired members of the US military can get specially discounted rooms at several Disney Resorts most nights from now until mid-October. Depending on the specific days of your visit, the discount can range from 20-40% off. *Black-outs apply for certain dates.
In all cases of military discounts and deals, a valid ID is required for ticket purchase and activation. Family members are required to show ID in some cases as well.
I believe I’ve found our vacation destination for 2014. A Stay Sky Resort suite with a full kitchen sounds great and with our son’s discount, we will spend less and have more room. He and his wife can certainly take advantage of a theme park freebie and we can all enjoy the nearby museums. Frankly, it will be nice to simply spend time together kicking back and relaxing poolside.
Thanks so much for the great post Michelle!
